RCMP to Receive 3.75 Percent Wage Increase in 1998
RCMP members across Canada will get a 3.75 per cent wage raise in 1998 with a two per cent retroactive to January 1 and a further one per cent on April 1 plus .75 per cent on October 1. Starting pay for a third year constable rises to 52423. The pay rise places RCMP sixth among nine large forces, plus 20 cent shift premium for nights and a field training bonus. Manitoba taxpayers face about 2 million in costs this year.
