The Rossburn Women's Institute met Tuesday April 4 at 3 pm. President Mrs Moan chaired with Mrs Snider secretary. A report from the W I board meeting in Russell April 3 was read by Mrs McIntosh. Wendell Cleland showed films of England. Ruby Moon won the jackpot. lunch was served by Mrs Lindsay.

Manitoba Student Wins 6000 Dollar Doctor Fellowship
Dr. Nicholas Demehuk of the University of Manitoba received a $6,000 post doctorate fellowship awarded after Ottawa selection by committees of Canadian scientists. The university president said the 68 Manitoba recipients competed with students nationwide.

Successful Ice Carnival at Vista
The Vista March 17 Carnival drew many children in costumes and racing. Prizes went to three girls for ticket selling for Carnival Queen with proceeds benefiting Vista. First prize went to Dick Baker of Vista for $10, second to Sheila Brown of Vista for $8, and third to Mrs Harry Ewanat of Shoal Lake for $4.

The Consolidated School board opened tenders for Byrd and Sharman School properties. The Byrd site, assigned to Mike Baul, and the Sharman site, awarded to Rossburn Centennial, include plans to preserve the small playground building as a historic artifact, use it as a Recreational Centre, later house a local antiques collection as a museum, and guarantee ongoing upkeep by the village.

Arnold Hosts 90th Birthday for Mrs Bessie Ross
On Saturday evening March 11 1967 Mr and Mrs Arnold entertained in honor of Mrs Bessie Ross who celebrated her 90th birthday. Attendees included Mrs Nell Patterson Evans and family and multiple Ross descendants. Mrs Ross daughter of Thomas Young and widow of Richard Ross spent years in Rossburn and Angusville and remains active and beloved by family.
