The Ladies Aid Society of Fexerton held a kitchen shower on Wednesday afternoon June 28 honoring Hazel McMillan bride elect. A large basket of utensils was given by Mrs Fran cia, with a letter of presentation read by Mrs George Maguire. John and Miss Hazel McMillan were bid farewell at The Grange farm as they prepare to marry on June 28. Mrs S A Restall of Winnipeg visited Mrs C B Hawter.
Municipal Hospital records five new cases up to Wednesday afternoon. Nine patients remain hospitalized. Donations noted include eggs from Mrs. C. Davis and gifts from Mrs. Holmes and Mrs. Griffiths.
The Granes home of Mr. and Mrs. John McMillan hosted the marriage of their daughter Catherine Hasel Thompson of Landis Sask on Monday June 28. Guests included W G Thompson of Brendem Man and others from Winnipeg and Kidpath. The ceremony by Rev H McCulloch featured a white and mauve travesty gown with carnations and lilies. A luncheon followed with toasts to the bride and to the couple who celebrate ten years of marriage. The couple will reside in Landis after August 1.
Rev. Smith-Windsor preached his farewell sermon to a full house as two years of service with the Rosetown church concluded. He expressed pleasure at the opportunity to work with the congregation and thanked the members for their welcome and support. The Windsors received many handsome gifts from grateful parishioners.
A brief note reports a free stow event at Rex's during Saturday afternoon with casual foray of items offered. Attendees were seen browsing shelves and exchanging small goods in a relaxed community moment.
Regular council meeting presided by Mayor Holmes with Councillors Wright Smith McMillan and McDougald present. Minutes approved. Communications reviewed include municipal affairs fund, rink site payments, overdraft notes, weed and weeders, and a July 19 revision court hearing. Council adjourned to July 6 at 8 p.m.
Mrs E D Roots and others visited Baskatow Lage while the football team claimed a 1 0 victory over Bounty Woan at the fair. Runners from Rosstown impressed as visitors arrived with families and friends in attendance.
A piente at Idaleen Friday drew a godly crowd who enjoyed the affair. The football added interest mainly in the afternoon, making the gathering a successful and enjoyable community event.
