Local directors plan to open the public school early in October. Mr and Mrs Isseo Schultz, visiting H W Davis’s family for three weeks, have left for Manhattan Kansas. Misses Jennie and Gertrude Johnson head to Portland to view the fair. A 12 year old boy, son of Mr Richefer, injured his elbow after a fall from a horse and was taken to Roseburg for treatment. A few residents may visit the Portland exposition this week.

Campaign Against Profanity Draws National Secretary to Roseburg
W. R. Lett, national secretary of the Anti-Profanity Society, toured Roseburg as part of a coastwise push to curb profanity. The Roseburg orchestra will perform this evening, and Pacific Coast manager W R Smith praised the store as a model of lighting and arrangement, calling Roseburg proud of the Mammoth Daylight Store.
