Rev Thornton of Dillard preached here last Sunday. Mrs Fred Beard of Roseburg was week. Mr and Mrs C H Buell and family visited Mr and Mrs J T Spaugh last Sunday. Geo Martin of Coquille City passed through on his way to Roseburg. Mr and Mrs M K Williams plan a trip to St Paul. Our Sunday School is programming nicely. Ivan Johnson of Alaska returned to Portland after visiting his sister Mrs Strand. Our school began last Monday with unusually many pupils. Roads are muddy but students reach school on time. Horrah for fine January weather. Farmers plow and sow while eastern states have snow and blizzards.

He was with daughter Bertha Tongue and Miss Ruane when stricken, doctors failed to save him. Funeral plans and interstate travel for mourners followed the death as Congress adjourned in respect.

Mountain Lion Killed Near Glenlale Noted Fat and Large
B W Folk of the Highland Angora Goat Farm in Glenlale reported killing a full grown male mountain lion near his ranch. The animal measured eight feet six inches and weighed about two hundred pounds. This is the second lion reported killed in the area recently. Folk also mourns the loss of six high grade kids from his herd. Fell to his Death. Williams Young, a bridge carpenter from Ashland, died at the Fall Creek trestle on the Kismeth River Hillroad when a scaffold shift caused him to fall. He suffered a fatal head wound and a broken neck.
