Almira reports an outlaw named Harry Tracey traveling southeast toward Ritzville. A farmer saw a man with two horses and two rifles near Alnmira and Sheriff De Holt pursued toward the Perkins ranch, unseen since. Sheriff Cudihee arrived from Wilson Creek to investigate, with Tracey thought to have passed through Coulee City late last night.
The Klamath Lake Railroad from Laine to Mokegaain advances slowly due to labor shortages. Grading near Fall Creek is near complete as rails approach two miles from the bridge. A new survey will reroute toward the Fall Creek waterfall with a scenic timber land vista.
The Great Central Land Company buys nearly 700 acres in Marshfield with water frontage on Coos Bay. The deal includes 130 acres on the waterfront near the business district from the Flannagan estate, a western block of six forties of C. H. Merchant land, and 30 acres adjoining to Ponystough. Total prices are $50,000 for Flannagan land and $12,000 for Merchant land.
