Alto Fire Destroys Town in Columbia County
A fire Friday night wiped Alto in Columbia county off the map destroying the depot section house one elevator and three warehouses along with eight thousand bakels of barley owned by the Pacific Coast Elevator Co with an estimated loss of twenty thousand dollars. Only the section foreman remained.
