A large fire in Kansas City gutted the mammoth Auditorium where the Democratic convention was to be held on July 4. The blaze started near 10 p m and swept across Thirteenth and Central Streets within minutes, collapsing the roof 20 minutes after the alarm. The structure is to be rebuilt.
