Missouri Legislature Sails Through Week on Senatorial Struggle
In Jefferson City this week the main activity centered on electing U.S. Senators. Henderson secured the short term seat ending March 4, while Col Gratz Brown’s bid faltered as conservatives held firm against radical emancipation plans. Representative Phelps argued for S. T. Glover as the true alternative, with his speech to be printed next week.
