Vera Lehnus led the business, a candle service for new members occurred, and a panel on The Perennial Flower featured Grace Kelchner Fern Pease and Sylvia Skartwed. Sandra Ives hosted 30 high school students after the Sept 9 football game with games and dancing and pantry-themed refreshments. Friendly Circle Club met Sept 9 with hostesses and one guest. Jean Robinson honored by personal and community showers Aug 16–17. The PALE Club met Sept 9 with most members present. Therese Majorowicz birthday party Sept 9. TIT Society held a Sept 11 luncheon at Mrs Donald Eikenberry’s home. Mary Hopkins gave a report on Eden Valley Girls Camp.
Gene Rolfe local report states Cornwell was taken to Mercy Hospital Fort Dodge Tuesday afternoon and transferred that evening to Mercy Hospital Des Moines. He remains in serious condition as his wife and mother, Mrs Emma Cornwell, stay by his bedside.
