Sunset Hill Manor reports Sunday worship led by Rev. Johnson with Mrs. Rutg ers on piano and Mrs. Henry Olerich singing. August 23 celebrated Leonard Ripperger's birthday with cake and ice cream. Pink Ladies held August meeting with ten members. Clara Dawson and Ferne Thorgon served refreshments. Invited visitors included locals from Quief-town, Emmetsburg, Clarion, Chicago, Mason City, Pocahontas, Fort Dodge, Ruthven. Lehnus family reunion held at Twin Lakes with 29 present including Rolfe and Webster City relatives and other connections.
Pink Robin Lynn Cain, daughter of Mr and Mrs Royce Cain of Lawrence Indiana, was born August 20 1976 weighing six pounds nine and three quarters ounces. Grandmothers are Pat Barnett and Lois Miller. Great grandparents Myrtle Carpenter and Herman Moeller.
Mrs. Merl McAninch remains a patient at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. John Hopkins was discharged Saturday from Pocahontas hospital. Miss Allie Grant of Pocahontas, formerly of Rolfe, was admitted to Pocahontas Community Hospital on Monday August 23 after suffering a stroke.
Nina Stewart, bride to be of Rick Thoren, will be honored at a community shower. The event is scheduled for Saturday September 11 at 7 30 p.m. in the United Methodist Church parlors.
The Chapter BB TTT gathering shifts from Monday Sept 6 to Sept 13 at Karen DeWolf's home. The Friendly Circle meeting has been cancelled for September.
Jamie Peterson of Sweeny Texas visited her grandparents in Rolfe and Fort Dodge after a Lutheran Youth Encounter tour through several states. Local Lutheran Women circlesSt Pauls met August 25 with Bible study topics and multiple hostesses. A visitors’ picnic honored former Rolfeite Pearl Chambers in Rialto California with family and friends attending. Birthday celebrations marked Mrs. Tives and Mary Von Budolfson with local neighbors present.
Help Line of Fort Dodge will host a training session for people in October to become volunteer listeners. Nita Price will head the instruction with Area 5 Education Agency staff assisting. The program trains in active listening and covers policies, counseling theory, and referral information.
