On Wednesday October 30_ROLFE boys and girls will seek pennies for UNICEF in a door to door program under church supervision. Children register at four churches and collect from 6 to 7 PM then attend a Ritz show followed by treats. Co chairs Mrs Gardewine and Mrs Flaherty urge generosity for UNICEF aid.

Funeral services for John M. Bush were conducted at the Plover Methodist Church with Rev. Maurice Frevert presiding. Burial followed at Powhatan Cemetery. Born May 28, 1877 in Fonda Iowa, he lived most of his life in Pocahontas County and died October 14 1968 at Emmetsburg Iowa aged 91 years four months and 16 days. He was married twice to Florence Smith and Cora Lokerse and was survived by his wife two sons two daughters and numerous grandchildren great grandchildren and stepchildren. He served as Pocahontas County Supervisor for twelve years and supported the church Masonic Order Eastern Star Royal Arch and Commandery.

Des Moines architect Wm J Wagner spoke on Iowa heritage with slides, while an antiques table and old-time music complemented the event. The next meeting is January 20, 1969, in the Courthouse.
