Wintry county crops and town updates from Pocahontas area
C F Oleson of Cummins township harvested the county’s only crop of wine apples last week and plans to vote in the forthcoming election. Walter Spence, with a friend from Pocahontas, visited Joesville Minnesota to see Mrs. L C Thornton who recently underwent appendicitis surgery in Council Bluffs. J W Eval of Pocahontas won a first premium for a single ear of yellow corn at the state fair and a third for ten ears. James Richards of Pocahontas had appendicitis at Mercy Hospital Des Moines and was reported improving. Irene Tubbs began duties as assistant in the post office this Monday morning to become a reliable clerk.
