Filing closed for the Rolfe November election with three mayoral candidates Pat Wood David H Brinkman and K Mike Hood. Seven candidates seek four-year council seats plus unopposed park commissioner incumbent W J Brinkman. A 67 cent per $1000 capital improvement levy for a new fire station extends 10 years. Also a Cable Television franchise appears on the ballot.

Rolfe awaits two talks by Rick Swanson director of the North Central Alcoholism Research Foundation in Fort Dodge. Community forms support group for arts at Ralfe School
Parents teachers and students met September 27 in the Music Room to discuss forming a fine arts support group and to merge the Mu sic Boosters. The senior class float Staging a Victory won first place while a peace pipe float labeled Smoke Em won second. The Royal Court rode a stage coach pulled by Brownie MacVey’s team with Lynn MacVey and Dorina Metz steering. Eric Vaughn and Kerry Bennett were crowned King and Queen at the Coronation.
