Mrs. Wallace loaded corn into a stove when a blast struck, blasting fine shot into her face and hands. A shotgun shell likely fell into the corn cobs and was shoveled in. Dr. I E Gaffey treated the wounds and removed the shot. Expected consequences were serious but not yet fatal.
