Neighbors Aid Harvest on Peters Farm South of Gilmore City
Community members gathered at the Donald G Peters farm south of Gilmore City to harvest 50 acres of corn and share a neighborly meal at St John s Lutheran Church parlor. A 6 year old son Stephen Peters underwent major surgery in University Hospital Iowa City while others faced injuries and illness. local schools reported basketball scores at Manson and a wrestling tie with Emmetsburg.

The Gilmore City Town Council met in special session October 8 1968 with Mayor Van Alstine in the chair and four council members present.
