The A L D Club meets Tuesday December 2 at 2 00 p m with Mrs Ray Smith. Rolfe Progressive Club gathers Tuesday December 2 at Mrs Charles Lehnus home for a 12 30 potluck and white elephant gift exchange. Chapter BB T T T resumes Monday afternoon December 1 with Mrs Everett Burns.
The P A E Club met November 21 at Mrs. Robert Wiegert home with two guests. Thanksgiving lunch was served. Mrs. Florence Beneke will host December 5. United Methodist circles held November 19 with Ruth Esther Naomi Mary Circles meeting at various homes church lessons worship and specials attended by 13 to 16 members plus guests. Sorosis Tuesday Club Bridgetettes and Tuesday Bridge notes included book review and arrangements demos and prize winners.
Mr and Mrs Jon Olerich of Omaha announce the birth of son Michael Peter on November 22 1969 weighing eight pounds ten ounces. He has a brother David 20 months old. Grandparents are Mr and Mrs Orvan Olerich Rolfe and Mr and Mrs F W Herger Omaha. Great grandmother is Mrs H F Olerich Rolfe.
Mr and Mrs C F May Anderson Mixdorf of Waterloo announce the birth of son Michael Richard on November 22 1969 weighing eight pounds He has three sisters Ellen 14 Kathy 12 Nan 8 and Matt 5 Grandparents are Mr and Mrs Carl Mixdorf of Waterloo and Mr and Mrs R D Higgins of Rolfe Great grandfather O C Higging of Plover
Mrs. Anna Weichang remains a medical patient at Mercy Hospital Fort Dodge after admission Sunday. Miss Olive Ryen transferred Monday from Palo Alto Memorial to Fairmont Community Hospital Fairmont Minnesota. Daniel White infant son of Mr and Mrs Leonard White moved Friday by ambulance from Mercy Fort Dodge to University Hospital Iowa City ICU. Baby born November 9 in incubator with heart condition. Mrs Dorothy Schott discharged Saturday from Pocahontas Community Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. James Allen of Cedar Rapids announce the birth of their daughter Andrea Joan on November 17 1969. She weighed seven pounds four ounces and has a brother Aaron aged 20 months. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. James Allen Sr of Cedar Rapids and Harold Shelgren of Rolfe.
A brief note expressing gratitude to friends and neighbors for thoughtful cards received, acknowledging the kindness and support shown during a recent time of need.
Rev G H Brase led Sunday worship with special music by Mrs Arnold Wold Mrs Telmer Sime Mrs Al Bergeson and Miss Ruth Thorson and piano by Miss Verna Ryen. New Sunset Hill Manor resident Miss Hilda Nielsen among out of town visitors including Mr and Mrs Ernest Hokinson Mr and Mrs Harm Helmers Manson Marie Miller Sioux City Mrs Charlie Storck and others.
The VFW Auxiliary met at the Iowa Electric Light and Power recreation room on November 19 with Joyce Eikenberry presiding. Thirteen members and one guest attended as inspector Rose Cronk, 10th District President from Armstrong, was present. Members were asked to remember veterans and shut-ins at Christmas. Donations included $1 to the department for a 50 Star Flag and $5 to Camp Sunnyside for life jackets and sleeping bags. The December 16 potluck at 6:30 p.m. will feature a $1 gift exchange and a drive for Pop Tops Rings for Veterans Hospital plus coffee coupons. Betty Pedersen and Thora Pedersen served refreshments. Donna Smith, Bonita Kipfer, Ilene Rude, and Rose Calligan will handle coffee, rolls, and dessert.
Hilda Nielsen expresses gratitude for gifts visits and kindnesses received during her hospital stay. Special thanks are given to Rev Brase for his visits, acknowledging how much support meant during the past weeks.
C W Jarvis expresses sincere gratitude for the cards flowers and visits received while in the hospital noting their kindness was greatly appreciated and signed with initials.
Merle and Ward Strong express gratitude to friends and neighbors who gathered to pick their corn and to the corn pickers wagon haulers and the ladies who sent and served food. They also thank the Rolfe Co-op for furnishing fuel. Read The Swap Sheet.
