Engagement announced by stepfather Gilfert Nielson of Rolfe. Patricia Samson, music teacher in Lake Wilson, is to marry William Freitag Jr., son of William Freitag Sr., of Chandler Minnesota, with wedding date to be announced. Freitag is a student at Mankato State College.
A week at Sunset Hill Mai featured crafts bean bag games bingo and bowling with a movie afternoon and a 100th birthday party for Minnie Jarvis. Rev. Asp led Sunday services and the Living Dimension Team spoke for Lutheran Evangelistic Movement. Out of town visitors and visiting grandchildren joined residents.
Humboldt hosts a October 27 dinner honoring Curt Pederson who has begun basic training at Lackland AFB. Attendees include Curt, his wife Jeanne, and son Robbie along with multiple relatives from Perry Fond du Lac Rolfe and Laurens. Community birthdays and anniversaries noted.
The Garfield Gleaners 4 H met November 12 in the Library basement. Denise Duitscher led the Pledge of Allegiance. Brenda Rutgers presented the secretary and Shawn Nielsen the treasurer reports. Melinda Gardewine was elected president with Lori Simonson as vice president and other officers named.
The Pocahontas County American Legion Auxiliary units meet Monday November 21 at 2 00 pm in the Legion hall with a 130 pm board meeting. Newcomers Club gathers that evening at 730 pm at Linda Tutt s home with co hosts Jeanette Winkleblack and Roxie Riessen for officer elections.
Mrs Lloyd Cox is a patient at Pocahontas Community Hospital where she was admitted Saturday.
