Effectiveness of Allied airpower debated in wartime survey
A layman commission chaired by the Prudential president released a 200 volume report on bombing in Germany. It notes heavy Allied losses and that earlier aviation could have shortened the war. It also critiques German postwar apologism in a separate review.
