War veterans return as cattle market tops Sioux City week
Cpt Leo J Tiernan arrives home from Fort Leavenworth after 25 months in New Guinea and the Philippines. Howard Sandy returns from 89 months in the Pacific. Cattle fed by N C Nielsen and Roger Ives reached 17.65 per cwt as Sioux City area activity continues. Mrs May Bruner and Mrs Harold O Neal assisted at a gathering at Charles Jarvis home where a chimney fire occurred.

Setzeplandt missed school Thursday and Friday for the State Teachers Convention in Des Moines. He is one of the electors of the north central district and the second from Rolfe to be appointed.
