In Rolfe Wade and Chas DeMill sold their garage and seek a new site. QO Olson bought the building while White Bros took the stock. Storm Lake failed to appear for a Rolfe versus Storm Lake high school football game, so Rolfe won by forfeit. Dr Barber builds a $4000 veterinary hospital at Fonda.
Bradgate News records a flurry of visits and social events. Families from Fort Dodge Burt and Rolfe spend weekends with Glenn Nelson R E Hoag and others. Local clubs meet for sewing, quilting and church activities as members celebrate birthdays and share meals.
Funeral for John Coyle of Eagle Grove was held at the Ottosen Presbyterian Church last Wednesday afternoon. Visitors include Mr and Mrs Joe Johnson and Arlen of Gilmore City and Mr and Mrs Norman Johnson and baby from Ohio.
The Rolfe School Board invites written bids for a 1956 48 passenger school bus fully equipped to meet state rules. Bids must be filed by November 19 at 8 p.m. and will be opened at the schoolhouse. The board reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
The mayor Carl Hansen warns Rolfe residents that plastic bags clog sewer lines and the disposal plant. He notes the issue is unintentional and urges the public to avoid placing bags in the sewers.
Cletus Weipert of Lansing shot the largest deer ever killed in town with a bow. The 15 point buck weighed over 250 pounds. In Garner the high school band won Division I for the eleventh year running at Charles City marching contest.
