Large Weather Balloon Drifted Over Miever 16 Years Ago
A large weather balloon from Sioux City Air Base drifted over Miever about 3 am on a May Sunday and fell into trees near the Kathryn Bruner property north of the Lurther yard. Local WSCS circle met at Mrs. Robert Marchant’s home with 12 attending. wind thunder and lightning accompanied the gathering. Many left barefoot due to widespread flooding.
