John A Crummer 89 a Pocahontas county resident died at his son Rays home Friday May 18 after ill health since January He was born August 25 1848 in Jo Daviess County Illinois Married Mary C Pulley in 1869 moved to Crummer farm in 1881 served as county sheriff from 1899 to 1907 was a state legislator and held district court bailiff and justice of the peace posts Survived by four sons Ray Ren W F and Charles two daughters Ada Saylor and Clara Johnson and three sisters plus 18 grandchildren and several stepchildren and a stepdaughter. he outlived two sons and was married twice with first wife passing in 1905 and second wife in 1928
