Local clubs hold May 5 meetings with potluck and readings
A.L.D. Club met May 5 at Mrs. Nellie Brinkman for a 12 30 p m potluck luncheon with slides on a Washington D C trip and United Nations visit by Mrs. Bintz. Fifteen members and one visitor attended. The Progressive Club also met May 5 at Mrs. Stewart Whitmore with 183 members answering roll and with new officers installed for two years led by Mrs. Louis Wilson president and other officers.

The American Legion Auxiliary hosted May 11 with hostesses Mrs. Wolfe Spencer Tutt and Johnson. Plans for Poppy Day include a bake sale and coffee on May 23 and a President's Project gift was sent. Gold Star Mothers Thora Pedersen and Grace Kelchner received corsages. Jennie Johnson honored at Sunset Hill Manor. St. Margaret's held the May Crowning on May 10 with Lisa Raadte crown bearer and Diane Fangman placing the crown. children carried fresh flowers to the statue.
