Outlaw Buck Duane’s Escape and a Web of Enemies
Buck Duane, an outlaw after killing Cal Bain in self defense, flees pursuit. He befriends Luke Sevens while uncovering his brother’s grave and burying Stevens. Duane fights Bosomer at Briand camp and wounds him, then befriends Euchie who mentions Mrs. Bland and Jennie. He vows to help Jennie escape Bland camp while feigning care for Mrs. Bland to avoid suspicion.
