Presbyterian Orchestra Performs Sunday Night Program
The Sunday school orchestra at the Presbyterian church will present a concert Sunday evening April 3 at 7 80. The program features works by Van Suppe King Brahms and Zameneik with vocal solos violin and saxophone numbers and instrumental pieces. Reverend C Paul Carlson offers remarks and the event includes offertory and benediction.

George and Martha Washington will host all 4‑H leaders at Pocahontas in June for a gala event. The Pocahontas town band will provide music for Virginia Reels and other games. Miss Fannie Buchanan will visit Pocahontas April 30 to organize a planning committee. Mr and Mrs Virgil Thorson of Manson were visitors in Des Moines township with Mrs Thorson staying in Rolfe.

Rolfe High School in Rolfe Ia hosts a sub district music contest April 1 and 2 with thirteen schools represented. Sessions run 2 00 to 5 00 and 7 45 to 11 00 p m Friday and 9 00 to 11 00 a m 2 00 to 5 00 and 7 45 to 11 00 p m Saturday. Judges are Paul MacCollin and Eugene Adams from Morningside College. Tickets 1 00 for adults 60 cents for students.

Rolfe voters cast 464 ballots in a close city election with the mayor decided by two votes. Ten candidates competed for council, five from the business men’s ticket and four from the citizens’ ticket. Patterson led council with 260 votes and Pollock topped assessor with 273.

Wade DeMil told a large Des Moines Township Farm Bureau audience at the D M T school Monday evening that increasing money in circulation would aid prosperity. He argued that even all money could not buy the nation’s railroads or insurance property, and noted inflation and cash dominance limit business. The event included the Des Moines Township High School Orchestra, a Flag reading by Virginia Vaughn, a humorous piece by Doris Vaughn, and a girls string quartet. Mrs. Clarence Jensen was elected director for next month with others agreeing to serve in coming months.
