Easter Vacation At Grove Home In Farnhamville

Marjorie Taylor was absent from school last week due to scarlet fever. The town election became close with O. B. Fuller, Sr. elected mayor by a 5 vote margin over J. H. Brinkman. Naomi Sroufe and Harold Calligan attended a Rexall employees convention at the Fort Des Moines hotel on Monday.

Local notes on farm accident and town affairs

Thirty years ago Bernard Rickless suffered a severe laceration to his left hand requiring stitches after a farm accident. Warren Freeman missed days with a cold. Measles sidelined several students including Franklin Short and Robert Shelgren. Ralph Showers moved to Katz store in Sioux City to head the electrical department. Frances Howe began full time work with County Relief Agent Morehouse in Pocahontas. Fort Dodge visitors included Mrs. George Arnold and others.
