Farm Bureau Meeting Debates Tariff Aids Question
A Farm Bureau program featured a school auditorium debate on government aid for all farmers and tariffs on surplus commodities. Wade DeMill and C A Hosier of Des Moines township argued affirmative, Andrew Sim onson and Harvey Minkler of Powhatan township the negative. no judges were chosen and the audience decided. Mrs. Eggspuehler led community singing with Edward Lehnus and Allen Heathman providing vocal numbers. Mrs. J H Pollock read a farmer life poem through Tama county auctioneer reminiscence, with local newspaper usage of a Traer Star-Clipper poem Down On the Farm.

Miss Eunice Collins spent the weekend with relatives at Ayrshire. Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Stiles visited the Earl Day home near Gilmore City. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Cutchall and Mrs. Lars Gunstead of Waterloo spent Sunday at the Andrew Simonson home. Mr. Gunstead formerly resided east of Plover.

Obituary of Mrs. W. H. Roberts in Plover Iowa
Mrs. W A Roberts born September 8 1840 in Marietta Ohio died March 17 1926 in Plover Iowa at eighty five years six months nineteen days. She married W H Roberts after moving from Indiana to Iowa where they pioneered in Spring Hill Warren County and raised six sons and a daughter. Four sons survive C W J8 and A L of the area and J W of Spencer. Fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held March 19 1926 at the M E church in Plover with Rev Patterson, a male quartet provided music, and many relatives attended from nearby towns. The tribute notes her steadfast Christian life and preparation for heavenly rest.
