The Esther circle met at Betty Shenser’s home with Anna Howe and Hollenbeck assisting. Fifteen members and two guests attended worship led by Alma Ogden and Jesse Majorowicz with Mary Majorowicz and Liz assisting. The group hosted a special program and 14 attended overall.
Anna Ryens birthday observance was held Saturday at her home with relatives and friends. A sister led planning while guests from West Bend Rutland and Pocationtas joined. Refreshments followed amid a social afternoon. Bridgettes met Thursday with Mrs. Spencer hosting and prizes awarded for bridge. American Legion Auxiliary met March 18 in Legion Hall with 15 members and guests.
The March 22 morning bridal shower for Miss Mary Martens, director of nurses, was hosted by residents and staff. She will wed Dennis Shipler April 2. Debuts include Randy Buck’s Grit piece on Sunset Hill Manor. multiple hospital admissions listed for local residents.
Rebekah Lodge hosts bake sale and lunch at the Legion Hall on Saturday March 26. Jaycees meet Tuesday March 28 at 8 p m in the Ritz Theatre. Church services Sunday at 4 p m led by Rev Brase of St Pauls Lutheran. Pocahontas County Nursing Home Administrators meet at Sunset Hill Manor with Mr Morgan and Mrs Tinius in attendance. Crafts Club meets Monday March 27 at 8 p m at Vi Weiland's. needlework supplies requested. Staff ox ygen therapy class led by Ken Ackerman of Linde Oxygen Co. Two residents return home Mrs Eliza Short to Storm Lake and Mrs Tda Allen to Daws. Wm F Roach 75th birthday March 18 and T A Rossie Long noted.
Leonard reports Lindsey was discharged on Wednesday after a stay at Trutheran Hospital where he had been admitted as a patient.
Mrs Dorothy Nordlund R N Mrs Dolores Johnson R N Mrs Esther Byottner R N and C D Wenell board member visited the Albert City nursing home this week along with Major Don Olson of the Salvation Army Ft Dodge to allot the home’s affairs.
