Rolfe residents named to the March term of the district court include Ruth Allbee Jo Barnes Kenneth Depew Guy Eccles E Eikenberry Mrs Floyd Ferguson Mrs Chas Lehnus Helen Lund and Mike Schmidt. At Rolfe Consolidated School election 247 votes were cast. Guy Bendixon and Earl Chambers reelected. Mr and Mrs L R Davidson sold their home to Mr and Mrs Rodell Long with possession May 1.

Thieves Hit Five Rolfe Businesses in Early Morning Burglary
Twenty years ago thieves broke into five Rolfe businesses early Saturday, stealing an estimated 450 in cash. The targets were Mecham's place Miller's place Phillips 66 service station Rolfe Implement Co and Bradburn Implement Co. The following persons from Rolfe were involved.

Thirty years ago Roy Simonson Starvey Mink ler and Mrs J H Pollock attended a Pocahontas County Historical Society meeting in Pocahontas. Rolfe 1938-39 team went 22 24 with losses to Sibley and Webster City. Winter returns in Iowa with 50s temps and snow melt. Pilot Creek overflows. A cold wave drops readings to 8 above. Rural schools observed training days taught by Kennedy Ricklefs and Miller.

Clock Battery Fund Sparks Town Clock Revival
Forty years ago on Thursday March 21 1929 a subscription was begun to buy batteries for the town clock Elmer Barbour led the effort. The M and St L railway line on the local branch was shut after a bridge at Lizard Creek was damaged by high water delaying service.

Rolfe School Music Show Plans and Local Drawings
The Rolfe School Music Department promotes a March show with dates Friday March 25 and Saturday March 29. A five dollar drawing was held Sunday at the Ritz theatre with movie attendees eligible by registration, sponsored by Pat Wood who will continue contributing to attract audiences. Community members volunteer weekly to support the production and concessions, with more details on attendance and prizes to follow.
