Des Moines Township D M T boys sweep Cylinder in an Eight Conference doubleheader 32 15 for the boys and 45 40 for the girls on Cylinder floor. The girls claw back from 22 20 at half with Marjorie Peterson out first half and Shirley Fisher contributing in the finals. The D M T honor roll lists multiple students with top grades reflecting a strong six week period.

Sacred Heart Names Spellers for County Meet
Sacred Heart school will send Catherine Kemmer and Hileen Mart to the county spelling contest at the courthouse on Wednesday March 19. They won a school spelling contest as eighth and seventh graders respectively. The March PTA meeting occurred March 11 in Holy Name hall with a religious discussion and educational pictures from the Black Hills and Yellowstone.

Former pastor's wife visits Cedar Rapids and Winton
Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Olerich spent last weekend with their son Eldon and family in Cedar Rapids and visited Mrs. Margaret Echlin in Winton wife of a former Presbyterian minister who served the Rolfe charge. Echlin, recovering from a fractured hip from a June fall at a boat visit to see her daughter Margaret sail for China, plans to visit Rolfe friends this summer and uses crutches to get around. Margaret, a China missionary, is expected back soon. her husband remains in China.

Up and Coming 4-H Club Meeting Report
The Up and Coming 4-H club met at the Lathrops home March 8 with 14 members and two leaders plus new member Barbara Johnson. Marion Daniels led the meeting and Irene Shimon presented The Dove. The group sang Bolero and learned to braid rugs. next meeting is at Marvella Balle’s home on April 12.
