Mr and Mrs Gerd Post of Humboldt announce the engagement of their daughter Nancy Darlene to Kent Loher of Ames son of Mr and Mrs Gaylon Loher of Newton. Nancy is a Rolfe Community School graduate and a certified dental assistant. Kent works for Buck Construction in Ames. The wedding is set for July 23 in Des Moines.
Inga Ryen joined Sunset Hill Manor on June 27 and was transferred from Pocahontas hospital. Rev Haider led Sunday Services with Mrs Haider at the piano. Edith White became Activity Director. Out of town visitors included Mr and Mrs L Leroy Bontrager and Dennis from Middlebury Indiana and Madora Graat of Livermore.
Garden Club meets Thursday July 14 with Emma Diggs. Note a venue change for the gathering.
Susan J Baade from Rolfe has completed a Certified Laboratory Assistant course in Minneapolis and serves as an intern at Humboldt Community Hospital. Former Rolfe residents Ernest and Elizabeth Cox celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a Bronson open house.
Family members and guests traveled from multiple states to join Russell and Evelyn Ives and their descendants for a gathering. Attendees included Janet Mandel and Pamela Paterno with their families from Washington and Connecticut, and Rudolfson families from Iowa and Goldfield. Other guests came from Rolfe, Des Moines, and Humboldt areas.
A surprise housewarming for Gary Beekmanns was held Tuesday evening June 21 at their Pocahontas home. Attendees included numerous neighbors and relatives from Pocahontas Eagle Grove Rolfe and Palmer, sharing a steak fry and social time while presenting a money gift to the hosts. Several guests unable to attend were listed among local residents.
Rolfe United Methodist Church hosts an open house on Sunday July 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. in observance of the 80th birthday of Mrs. Bessie Roberts. The event invites friends and neighbors to celebrate the milestone.
