Rolfe notes show Miss Esther Telfer of Nevada visiting the Clarence Calligan home. Several local families host relatives and guests, a Wild West rodeo is planned, and church and school events are announced along with a series of travels and funerals.
Rev. P. M. Petersen presides with reading service at 10:00 a.m. Sunday school and Bible class at 11:15 a.m. Young People meet at 8:00 p.m. Weekday prayer meeting Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. Choir practice Tuesdays 8:15 p.m. at Mads Johansen home. Thursday prayer meeting at Mr. and Mrs. A. Isaacson home on June 23. Everyone is invited to worship.
The Ladies' Aid Society of Havelock invites members to a meeting today. Fort Dodge district Standard Bearers meet at Lake City this week. A Sunday night illustrated lecture on China follows. Epworth League District Convention is set for June 21-22 in Rockwell City. An Institute Supper at the church Sunday at six, with Jessie Harriger leading the devotional after. Members should bring sandwiches and a covered dish.
The Children’s Day program thrilled the Rolfe congregation with fine performances and beautiful flowers. Next Sunday Miss Clara Dawson will speak on her mission work in Tennessee and the Home Mission Board’s efforts. The pastor will lead the evening service and Christian Endeavor plans a 6:15 a.m. breakfast meeting for all members.
Regular meeting of the Rolfe town council with Mayor Bruce and members Brinkman Carroll Grant Johnson and Obrecht presiding. Bills approved include labor payments to Nanamaker Ferden and others, along with costs for gravel loading, taxes, gas, repairs, and pumping.
In a council meeting Carroll moves and Obrecht seconds to buy 260 feet of hose at 81 cents per foot from Walredh Supply Co. The mayor is authorized to sign the order. Motion carried and the meeting adjourned to reconvene by call as needed. Clerk F. E. Grant records the action.
Rolfe Iowa June 6 1927 Mayor Bruce presided with council members Brinkman Carroll and Johnson present. Bills from Art Ferden Ben Hurley Howard Jergens Mutual Telephone Manhattan Oil Co and others were approved totaling several dollars including rent gas and repairs.
