Tuesday night there was signs of life as Rolfe Autos and Dahl Markets played a six inning mid season game, Dahl 7 Autos 3. Sernett struck out 10 for the Markets and Carroll fanned 3 for the Autos. Markets had 9 hits to Autos 6. The late seventh inning ruined the Autos with Dahl scoring five runs.

Promotion Club Notes Quiet Summer Meeting
The Promotion Club meeting last Thursday, chaired by Leonard Smith, reflected summer activity with a church ladies serving. Bud Hauck reported slow town softball interest due to cool weather but uniforms are in use and expected to pick up. A circus parade joke led to a clash between C. W. Siefkin and J. J. Grant over sightings. A male chorus for Rolfe was proposed with a three member committee Andrew Simonson Rev H A Sinning Harriss F Thomas to study it. Geo Wells will preside June 20 and Rev Sinning was named for the July 4 meeting likely on a different date to allow celebrations.

Depew Victim of Month Long Pocketbook Theft
An 85 year old man, Chas C Depew, reported a robbery of 280 dollars from two pocketbooks kept at home. The funds, from dividends of a closed bank, were stored for daily use and larger redemptions. The theft likely occurred within the past month. no suspect has been identified.

Spanish War Veterans Convene in Bannetsburg This July
The state convention of the United Spanish War Veterans will meet in Bannetsburg on July 16 and 17 with many prominent state figures expected. A water carnival is planned for Medium Lake on Tuesday.
