Two auto loads of Epworth Leaguers were taken to Rockwell City Tuesday by Rev. T. Bassett and Virgil Vaughn to attend the Fort Dodge District League convention. An overnight break in ends with a shot fired but not aimed to kill as Roy stays ready. The culprit was spotted and warned against future attacks while Rob vows this will not end. Loren and Mrs Pease visit Shenandoah for a major flower show and tend to business in the radio town, highlighting their garden then and now.
A garden with southern slope and north and west protection by trees hosts 50 to 100 iris varieties along with other blooms. This year strawberry prospects are excellent and visitors are invited to tour the grounds and enjoy the display.
The American Legion Auxiliary met at Mrs. E. F. Stallcup’s country home with Mrs. Stallcup assisting. A program followed the business session featuring a flag history, flag respect, a duet, and the American Creed with notes on Vidac. Guests included Miss Agnes Christensen and others.
Flora Delilah Minkler daughter of Mortimer and Ann Minkler was born September 41 1873 at Edgewood Town. She moved with family to Pocahontas county Iowa in 1892 taught four years. She married John A Murray March 25 1896 and lived on farms near Plover Rolfe and Des Moines townships. She died June 8 1935 at Rolfe after long illness. Survived by husband three daughters three sisters two brothers and many relatives. Funeral by Rev T S Bassett with choir and burial at Clinton Garfield cemetery.

Supervisors designate banks as depositaries for county funds in Pocahontas County Iowa with specified maximum deposits. The county treasurer is authorized to deposit funds up to amounts named opposite each designated depository. Continued next week.
