Open house marks 40th anniversary at Brinkman farm
About 150 relatives and friends gathered Friday evening June 8 at the Brinkman farm home to celebrate the couple’s 40th wedding anniversary. Dorothy Cran, an auditor for the district REA, has been visiting her parents in Fort Dodge. Arnold Hansen spent Wednesday morning at Lutheran hospital. W H Buchanan of Laurens spent last week with the Glen Forsythe family and built a new porch.

Mystery Picture Interrupter Identified at Central Iowa Exchange
Interrupter pioneer Robert Struthers was the first to identify the Mystery Picture as an automatic telephone interrupter at the Central Iowa Telephone Company exchange. The device interrupts long calls and Struthers will receive a one year Arrow subscription. Two wrong guesses were a substation and a garage door spring.

30 years ago D Roy Coffin known as Mose and his son Dallas Roy traveled from Lyons Nebraska to attend Masonic events. Fremond Nielsen broke his left arm in an accident when a horse kicked. The Home Study Club planned a meeting at the Minnie Jarvis home with Z T Carroll and R C Grant as hostesses. Dora Simonson and Roy Simonson rehearsed with the Choral Union in Eagle Grove ahead of a Sioux Falls big sing fest featuring a 1000-voice chorus.
