Open House will be held for Mr. and Mrs. William R Fisher of Rolfe celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. From 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 8, in the Presbyterian Church social room with a 2:30 program. Hosts are their children Bruce, Gary, Shirley Phillips, Barbara Opheim and families. No gifts requested.
Sunset Hill Manor held Sunday worship conducted by Msgr. Reising with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Cox and others assisting. Joe Ripperger is a new resident. Mrs. Fisher played piano for the rhythm band as visitors from Bird Island Pocahontas Okinawa and Emmetsburg joined in.
Mr and Mrs Ronald Pat Orwig Kluver of Sioux City announce the birth of Jason Ronald on May 21 1975. He weighed eight pounds 154 ounces. Grandparents are Mr and Mrs Herman Kluver of Remsen and Mr and Mrs C F Orwig of Rolfe.
Confirmation Sunday June 1 during morning service at United Methodist Church with Rev. Warren A. Bintz as officiant. Class includes Joan Roberts Kim Stover Laurie Allen Rita Johnson Craig Pederson and Michael Allen, each listed as child of local parents.
Community showers honor brides Kay Schumacher Patricia Bennett and Susan Jensen at local venues in Mallard Rolfe and Gilmore City. American Legion meetings Legion Auxiliary and OES gather in Rolfe Boone Masonic Home slides shown. Social Security representative to visit Pocahontas Courthouse Tuesday morning.
Mrs. Otto Esser entered Humboldt hospital Tuesday for examination and possible therapy on her hip. L. A. Ripperger was released Wednesday last week from the Pocahontas Community Hospital. Esner Pat Thompson remains hospitalized at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines.
St Pauls Lutheran Women held circle meetings on May 28 with Elizabeth Lydia and Esther Circles at the church or homes. Bible study covered One who speaks with authority. Glyde Smiths 25th anniversary was celebrated with a May 25 gathering in Pocahontas and other relatives attending. Deb Freeman was honored after a high school graduation with an area reception. Multiple extended families gathered for triple anniversary observances at Spirit Lake and nearby towns.
MARIBELLE THEA IVES of Rolfe Iowa will wed Jeffrey Van Bischoff of Northport New York on July 12 1975. Susan Ann Jensen Cran to Bruce Donald Cran announced by her parents Betty Jensen Gilmore City and Edward Jensen Humboldt. Ellen Kay Annin to David Michael Guderian announced by Roger E Annin Lincoln Nebraska and Arthur E Annin Omaha. Wedding in Omaha September 20 and Humboldt June 21 ceremony in Our Savior's Lutheran Humboldt. Rolfe Golf Club hosts a couples 2ball foursome this Saturday June 7 at 5 pm with supper at 7 30 pm.
