Orval W. Wilbur of Pocahontas was seriously wounded in the North African area May 1, according to war department word received May 24. He writes from an evacuation hospital and has two years in Army service including overseas duty.

Memorial Day Observed With Services And Parade
Memorial Day services were held at 11 o clock at the Methodist church with Rev J D Wolcott delivering the address. An American Legion Auxiliary program preceded a parade by World War veterans Boy Scouts and flower girls to Washington cemetery where taps sounded and a firing squad honored the dead. Everett Albaugh, youngest son of Mr and Mrs Elmer Albaugh, has earned a commission as second lieutenant in the Army Air Force. Axel Carlson spent the weekend fishing at Lake Minnewaska.
