Weather notes show good crop growth after rainfall
In Pocahontas the weekend rainfall of about two inches improved crops with corn at 69 inches, oats around 60 bushels per acre expected, and alfalfa thriving. Soil at five inches was 78 degrees with moisture eight inches into the top five feet, oats windrowed halfway, some hail reducing oats yield by about 25 percent on a small group of farms west of town.
