Points to Consider in Buying Applying Paint
County Agent H C Willett relays guidance from C H Van Vlack Iowa State College Exten sion Service on paint selection and use. Surface prep is as important as painting. durable paint requires high linseed oil content and careful drying agents. dark pigments offer durability with iron oxide and carbon black being strongest. For best results seek high pigment to liquid ratios and refer to Farmers Bulletin 1452 Painting on the Farm for more details.
