Mr and Mrs Sam Nicoson were honored on Wednesday June 30 for their 50th wedding anniversary. Hosts from the A L C W celebrated with relatives and friends. Sam Nicoson and Geraldine Rankin wed June 30 1926 and have two children Dale Rolfe and Sue Klein Northfield NJ plus three grandchildren.
The Rolfe Arrow notes a June 21 meeting at Mrs. Dale Lenz home with eight members responding. Readings included The Spider's Web and a topic on the 1876 Centennial and bicentennial Ours. A Thread of Blue Denim was to be purchased for Rolfe Library in memory of Arthman Christensen.
At the June 21 meeting in the County Museum Laurens the Laurens Jaycee Ettes presented a $100 check to the Pocahontas County Historical Society for the folding chair fund. Swan Lake Everready 4-H Club members performed an educational skit titled Women of Aabrengome. Mrs Bill Peterson played a Ware Bicentennial sunrise service recording. Mrs Florence MacVey of Rolfe led museum plans discussion.
The report covers Legion Auxiliary meeting July 12 at the Legion Hall with a 6 30 pot luck supper and officer installation, Senior Citizens July 10 at 2 00 p m, and multiple Bible study circles led by various hosts. It also notes the Brinkman family reunion July 4 at E P Brinkman’s farm with many attendees and Methodist Sub Groups meetings June 29 with hostesses and programs.
Karen Ripperger, Karen Weihs, and Jeanette Behrendsen will be honored at community showers on July 9 10 and 15 in church halls. Jim Keeble and his wife observed their 25th wedding anniversary at Pleasanthill Presbyterian Atkins with 150 guests from multiple towns.
