At the June 26 evening event, Jeanelle Winklebla and Noreen Perkins led dessert seating while Maureen Ranney topped the 900 bridge game. In bingo, Doris Schultz Rose Calligan and Jacki Hutchinson shared top prizes.
Sharon Truelsen was honored at a bridal shower June 26 at the D.M building. West Bend and Rolfe area friends attended. corsages went to Sharon and her mother Mrs Robert Truelsen. readings were given by Mrs George Thatcher and Mrs Wesley Bennett. gifts opened with helpers from Alpona and West Bend. Refreshments featured pink and white.
A Shelgren family reunion gathered about 30 relatives and guests on Sunday, July 4, in the Library basement. Attendees included Ed Shelgren and his wife, Jean Daughenbaugh and Pamela and Marta of Huntington Beach, Calif., Jerry Vanass and children Jeremy and Rachel of Santa Ana, Calif., Earl Nielsen and Eddie Shelgren families of Gilmore City, and Jim Martin and Esther Sinek families. Janet Shelgren and her family, the Joe Grells of Washta, could not attend.
Esther Circle met at Wesley Bennett home with Mrs Chester Trueisen assisting. Mrs Henry Baade led Bible study and Mrs Wesley Bennett presented the topic. nine members and five guests attended. Rachel Circle gathered at the church June 30 with Frieda Thorson and Ruth Thorson as trustees. seven members were present and Mrs Melvin Thorson led Bible study.
Zelma Peterson expresses gratitude for cards letters and gifts received during hospital stay and after returning home. She notes the support of a small community through visits and reminders of care from neighbors. The note thanks the WSC Ladies and OKS Ladies for meals and service at services for W. Joho Paiock.
