Advise More DDT For Corn Borer
County extension director E I Rosenberger notes that higher DDT rates improve control of the European corn borer. He cites last year’s results with 12 lbs per acre and Iowa State College's 1950 recommendation of 14 lbs per acre, arguing higher concentration boosts yields despite higher cost. Concerns are raised about dealers pricing DDT per acre base rather than per pound.
