Forty years ago H. D. Brinkman suffered heavy bruising after a basketball game where his male team mounted a runaway. Soldier in Africa Delivers First Letter Home
Corp Merle Christensen writing from Africa sent his first Christmas letter to his parents, bringing them happiness thirty years after his departure from the United States.
Local social scene noted with visits and travel across towns
Humboldt residents hosted guests from Cleve Kerns and others while several families visited relatives in Ogden Wayne and Brainerd. On Sunday the Hilton family saw Brent depart for Fort Dix Army assignment via Des Moines. Additional winter trips included snowmobile excursions and visits to Yuma Arizona Livermore California Havelock Pocahontas and Gilmore City. Local lodge officers were installed in Havelock Pocahontas and nearby areas.
