Miracle escape after icy high speed car crash

Floyd Smith narrowly escaped death last Friday evening when his vehicle skidded on an ice covered highway. Blinded by approaching headlights he swerved into a ditch, toppled a large electric light pole and several fence posts, and finally halted in a pasture.

Unclear fragments report injury and vehicle incident

A fragmented report describes a man named Smith injured in an incident involving a Plymouth car near Havelock between here and Mallard on Primed No. 17. He lost consciousness and was taken to Dr Kenneth Punter for treatment after his leg injury.
