Feed Grain Signup Delayed to February 3rd
The starting enrollment date for feed grain signup moved from January 17 to February 3, per LeRoy Nelson. The period runs February 3 to March 10 with aim to set aside 38 million acres in 1972 versus 18 million in 1971 and allows up to 45 percent of base set aside. Warren Clark notes potential regulatory changes add spring pressure and urges producers to measure farms once program intentions are clear. Lambs and wool producers must file incentive payments by January 31 using 1971 sales receipts.
