Turkish soldiers guard a Bethlehem church to curb rival priests arguing over cleaning rights during Christmas. Authorities had long set rules but disputes continue. In 1913 a scene required soldiers to separate sects as a governor determined which group could sweep a wall area.

William P Buck born February 2 1854 in Ottensen Germany died December 18 1919 at his home near Havelock Iowa aged 65 years 10 months and 16 days He came to the United States in 1882 lived in Illinois twenty years then moved to Pocahontas county Iowa in 1902 He married Minnie Thon December 13 1874 and had eight children seven surviving His funeral was held December 20 at the M E church with Rev C A Bates officiating Interment at Powhatan cemetery near Plover He is survived by his wife and seven children Mrs M G Herscher Mrs Geo Miller William Henry Louie Fred and Richard all of near Rolfe The family extends thanks to those who aided during his illness and after.
Walter Larsen was a business caller in Humboldt Monday. Mrs. H. P. Schoonover and Mrs. I. J. Godden were Fort Dodge shoppers a few days last week. Misses Madge Nichols Lucile Watts and Lucile Henderson were Ft. Dodge callers Friday. Mrs. C. J. Sheldon visited a few days of last week at the S. C. Rossing home in Humboldt.
Mrs J W Tilton shopped in Rolfe Friday. Misses Emily Schoonover and Agnes Goodmundson visited Rolfe last Saturday. Mr and Mrs F F Caywood shopped there and Mr and Mrs A E Olsen called on Rolfe residents. Lulu Logan teaching in Ellsworth Iowa arrived to spend holiday with home folks. Johnnie Logan called Monday. Floyd Bradbury returned from a month in Missouri. Is Campbell went to Peoria Illinois for the winter.
