A compilation of social and civic notices including anniversary milestones for Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kirby and the Ricklefs family, civil service tests, Legion meetings, O E S sessions, Greater Rolfe Club gathering, Auxiliary, and commodity foods distribution with times and locations across Iowa towns.
Eunice Circle met December 14 at the church with 10 members and one guest for Bible study and a Christmas program followed by a potluck hosted by Mrs Mulgan and Mrs Anderson. Sarah Circle met December 2 at the Chow House Pocahontas for lunch then attended a Christmas workshop at St Peters Lutheran Pocahontas and visited the Good Samaritan Home. Elizabeth Circle gathered December 30 at the church for a potluck dinner with eleven members and seven guests.
Pi lot Lodge No. 467 held its installation of officers on Monday January 4 1965 at the Masonic Temple Installing officers were Erwin E Dubbers Master Fred Forsythe Marshal and Rev A Keith Hauser Chaplain Officers installed included Rodell Long Worshipful Master Jerry Lapour Senior Warden James Block Junior Warden John Brinkman Treasurer Conrad Majorewicz Secretary Lawrence Turley Chaplain John Young Senior Deacon Kenneth Pederson Junior Deacon Roy Thompson Senior Steward Don Shoemaker Junior Steward and George Lehnus Tyler A trombone solo by Russell Long with piano by Henry Brinkman followed by a Masonry lecture by Ervin Opheim of Dakota City Dinner for the group was served at 6 30 by OES officers.

Pocahontas County residents will join a statewide 1965 discussion on financing public services. The County Extension Council backs setting up countywide discussion groups to review current services, future needs, and how Iowans fund the common good through taxation and other means.
County Extension office will supply meeting kits for small neighbor groups of four to six couples. Starting February, groups meet weekly for four weeks with fact sheets prepared by Iowa State University staff in Ames to guide but not decide actions. Decicions left to individuals, continuing Iowa Future Series effort after past participation levels.
About 560 Pocahontas County residents joined the Challenge series and over 600 took part in Future discussions. The program invites local groups to meet informally at homes to discuss Financing Our Public Services. For details contact Andersen or the County Extension Council.
