Pork Producers Seek Voluntary Swine Cuts in 1956
Pocahontas County Swine Producers endorse the Pork List program sponsored by retail merchants. They call for a 15 percent voluntary reduction in broad sows for farrowing in 1956 and urge a regional survey to enlist voluntary participation. Chairman B W Lathrop says farmers must reduce supply to match consumer demand for 1956 1957. The group will lead signup efforts if wider groups launch similar actions. A quip closes the piece: A lady is a woman who makes it easy for a man to be a gentlemen.
