Community celebrates wedding anniversary and local gatherings
Feb 9 1980 marked aftersary of a wedding with many friends visiting including Mr and Mrs K P Hunter and J L Miller. Guests joined Fi a proper celebration with games gifts. A two course meal was served. Royal Neighbors event held a farewell for member Mrs Glenn Kent moving to Des Moines. Various locals attended oysters, birthday and card parties. Several community groups met including I O O F degree work and Campfire Girls.

Pocahontas County Board decides to issue seven drainage refunding bonds totaling 7000 dollars for Joint Drainage District No. 181 to extend third installment payments to 1939. Board sets terms 5 percent interest, bonds dated December 1 1929, payable at Pocahontas County Treasurer with semiannual coupons. Public hearing completed with no objections.

Auction Sale Highlights Movements At Bush Farm
Howard Albaugh sold surplus stock and machinery at a Tuesday auction on the Bush farm. He has bought a farm near Plover and plans to move by March 1. David Johnson and son Oscar visited Mrs. G. A. Grover’s family in Pocahontas. An old-time dance at the I O O F hall drew a large crowd with Henry Buck and LeRoy Miller providing music. Dr. and Mrs. N. D. Snell packed up for Ida Grove and will move to an apartment, selling household goods. Ward Leister’s brother visited from Ohio, and Earl Young of Plover moved to the Aller farm. Helen Grove hosted Campfire Girls with all members present.
